Sally’s Journey at Disrupt
2025-09-19
At Disrupt, we believe in creating opportunities for talent to grow, take ownership, and shape their careers in meaningful ways. One of the best examples of this journey is Sally, who started her career at Disrupt and has grown rapidly by taking on bigger responsibilities and challenges. From learning the basics of Amazon marketing to managing full brand accounts, her story reflects the kind of growth mindset and environment we aim to foster at Disrupt. Sally’s story highlights not only her dedication but also the kind of environment we strive to build at Disrupt - one where curiosity, ownership, and growth go hand in hand.
Q. Can you briefly introduce yourself and your role at Disrupt?
I’m Sally, currently working as an Account Executive at Disrupt. I first joined the company as an intern, and officially stepped into the Account Executive role after 6 months. My main focus is managing Amazon accounts for Korean brands, handling both operations and PPC advertising.

Q. What made you apply for Disrupt in the first place?
Disrupt stood out because of its global perspective. The team itself is diverse, and different perspectives are encouraged, which was something I really valued. I also wanted to gain experience working with brands of all kinds. Something that’s only really possible at an agency, where you’re exposed to different industries, brand styles, and growth strategies. Disrupt felt like the right environment to build that kind of broad, practical experience.
Q. What kind of projects did you get to work on so far?
I have been working on tasks like optimizing Amazon listings, managing PPC campaigns, and preparing reports. I also had the chance to work on creative projects, like helping design product pages and brand store pages, which gave me insight into how visual and content strategies work together to drive sales.
Q. Was there a moment when you felt, “I’m growing here”?
The first time I led a call with a partner. It was intimidating and honestly a bit scary at first, since I wasn’t used to presenting updates or answering questions in real time. But over time, with practice and more experience, I started feeling more confident handling those conversations. It became a clear sign to me that I was growing not just in skills, but in how I communicate as a professional.

Q. What kind of support or feedback helped you grow into an Account Executive?
Regular feedback from my manager was a big factor. Both in terms of technical skills like keyword strategy and in how to approach partner communication more strategically. Also, being trusted to work directly on projects made me feel more accountable and motivated.
Q. How has your role or mindset changed now that you've taken on the role of Account Executive?
As an Account Executive, I now have full ownership of the brands I manage. It’s no longer just about executing tasks but about thinking holistically - balancing sales, brand voice, customer experience, and long-term strategy. My focus shifted from just “doing the work” to driving outcomes.
